HELP - need part

HELP - need part

Postby Fierce Critter » Sat Jul 25, 2009 5:09 pm

While I was on vacation, my sister overfilled my SmartScoop. Ended up jamming the rake & one of the teeth broke off the gear that makes the rake go upwards.

Anyone got a broken Smartscoop around they can take apart and I'll pay the shipping to send me the part I need?

It's not any of the gears on the motor part - it's the one that's on the bin part, is white, and just has a few teeth, not a full "round" of them.

Hey Fierce Critter, I might just have what you need. How old is your Smartscoop? Mine is less than a year and I had some motor gears break, since it is still under warranty, Smartsccop is sending me a new motor and waste collection unit, the new one with the metal gears. So, if yours is over a year old, then I can send my plastic gear for the rake lifting mechanism, if it's still within a year, call smartscoop and give them date and place of purchase and you should receive a warranty replacement, they are backorderd right now, but expect more in the end of this week. Let me know, somehow... Oh, how do we get together off-line to set this up? 8)

Flashcat:

I have two SmartScoops - an old one and a newer model.

The one that broke is the old one. I checked both, and the gear on the rake lifting mechanism is identical on both, so it shouldn't be a problem as far as the age of the box, it's the same.

Just to clarify - if you remove the waste collection unit and turn it upside-down, there is a white gear visible on the left side (granted you're facing it from the front "dumping" end vs. the rear "resting" end). That's the gear I need.

I will send you a private message on here with my e-mail address. We'll go from there. :D

Thanks a MILLION!
