Automatic Litterbox Central

I wanted to know if the newer unit is on the market or not. I called customer support and was told that the new unit has been on the market since Feb or Mar, BUT there is no way of telling the new unit from the old unit except by looking at the motor. She said the box is the same, but the motor has a metal gear that you can see instead of plastic like on the old unit. She also said they have no way of knowing which online merchants are selling the new box.
