How can I order the Scoopfree to work with 220 voltage? Is it possible to ship it to Europe (Portugal)?

Hi,

The power adapter is external to the litter box. If you would like to use Scoop Free outside the US, please call us at (312) 466-6000 (inside the US you can call toll-free 888-726-MEOW) and we can sell you a power adapter for your country for a small fee.

All best,
Alan

The bigger question is where you expect to get the refills in Portugal. I think you would probably be better off with a unit that did not depend on supplies that aren't sold outside the US. Maybe a Litter Robot?

The shipping price of refills could be a problem, but I've bought litter robot and it didn't work out that well... One of my 3 cats urines such a quantity that the lump would not pass trough the holes towards the drawer below. Therefore I was always finding lumps of urine that didn't manage to pass to the drawer...

Meanwhile I thank you in anticipation for the measure of Scoopfree.

Measurements

Postby abbeytoo » Mon Apr 17, 2006 7:06 pm

Not exact but close enough....

width 17"
length 26"
depth 7.5"

Also, check Amazon.com for refills. I just bought some (6 for $15.00) and shipping is free. The scoopfree website sells 6 refills for $89!

That's them, however, when I ordered, I got 6 for that price. I thought it was a mistake, so I ordered several, and they all went thru. I think that all of us who saw it ordered them all! They must have realized the price was way low and changed it. Still, 3 for 15.99 is a bargin. Check the scoop free website and see how much they want for the refills. Order them from Amazon, the sooner the better, in case they change it again.

:( Amazon informed me that they only ship refills to US, not to Europe.

This way it becomes a bit expensive to buy the cartridges from Scoopfree website :(

Something is screwy at amazon! Why would anyone buy 3 when they canget 6 for the same price? They also are selling :

Scoop Free Automatic Litterbox Refills - Kit of 3 for $119!!! This looks like it is the whole box not just the litter.
and:
Scoop Free Automatic Litter Box for $139.

something is not right

Exactly.

My Petsmart order (placed through Amazon) has shipped. I wonder what I'll actually get.

I think CatGenie may be a better deal for you, since in theory you could operate it without any supplies from the US. The total cost of operation is probably lower anyway. But I have no idea how difficult it would be to adapt the plumbing fittings to work in your country. You'd also need a very heavy duty transformer.

My wife has some crafting clear plaster stuff I was also going to try. I just need to have whatever I spray not absorb odors or moisture.

I was thinking about this last night. I haven't yet bought a Scoop Free. But you know that roll on stuff for the back of trucks? I wonder how that would work? I know it would not absorb moisture, cats scratching wouldn't be an issue... (that's one thing I'd have to worry about!) though I'm not sure for how long, but I wouldn't know about absorbing odors.

I'm ScoopFree ignorant. How is ScoopFree different from say a LitterMaid rake-type automatic litterbox full of FreshStep crystals?

Sounds pretty much the same to me, just with a brand new pretty label.

Disposable Cartridge

Postby SF_Lucky » Tue Jun 13, 2006 12:38 pm

Hi Scott and Victoria,

My name is Alan and I am one of the inventors of ScoopFree. ScoopFree is different from the other automatic litter boxes because it can be left alone for up to 30 days (with one cat). So imagine not having to empty a waste bin or handle litter for weeks at a time. This is possible because we have a disposable tray that is filled with Fresh Step Crystals. The crystal litter does not clump. This means there are no clumps to stick to the rake, no clumps to clog the mechanisms, and no clumps to take up space in the waste bin. The crystals lock away odors, absorb liquids and dry out the solids. In fact, the solids shrink to about one-half their original size. So because there are no clumps and the solids shrink, the waste bin lasts a long longer than the competition before filling up. This means there is nothing for you to empty, refill or clean for weeks at a time. For more information, read through the other posts or visit our website: http://www.ScoopFree.com. If you have questions about the product, you can also call the company toll free. Our number is 1-888-726-MEOW (6369).

All best,
Alan
