Hi Julie,

Working hard on getting the prototype made and fully tested! We're hoping to have that completed within the next couple of weeks -- and then from that point it will be 90 to 120 days until we have the newest version ready to ship.

I'm sorry I don't have anything more definitive for you than that.....but what I can say is that what we're working on is something that should be another improvement. I continue to look for ways to make life easier with these......

Please keep us informed.

Why is it okay for some opportunist, who somehow obtained a stockpile of the trays, to sell them on eBay but it is not okay for you to do so?

And if that is okay, what is stopping you (except integrity, of course) from adopting such an eBay identity and doing the same?

I would buy a SF if I could get a reasonably priced forever tray, but I won't do it when someone is selling them at a 400% markup. I have a litter-robot, but only one of my two cats will go inside the thing. I've tried everything and the boy is just too damn stubborn.

I really lucked out and found a non-greedy woman who was selling hers on Amazon marketplace at cost! So for $40 and a few dollars shipping I'm a happy camper. :-)

It really was luck - I'd put it in my cart when it was still sold, but then moved to "save for later" as I tested out the box. By the time I decided to buy, it had become unavailable. But I left it in "save for later" and one day when I was buying it later I saw it had a price back next to it, and grabbed it.

I think my husband was either the first or second person to make a tray for the SF (we have 6 cats and those refills didn't last 5 days) and he did it out of a single piece of plexi. Here is the link to his detailed how to I had him post years and years ago :) Sorry they made it where you can't buy the pre-made ones anymore, but for anyone who is even sort of handy... my husband said it was pretty easy to make. The only problem with the plexi is that it can shatter if you are not careful so you have to take your time and care when making it and when cleaning it. I had mine for I think about a year and never had a problem with it.

Hope this helps those who can't find one to buy.
