Forever tray yellowing

Postby rcdoc » Fri Dec 25, 2009 9:02 pm

I love my forever tray! However, my newest one has a large yellow discoloration covering about 1/4 of the bottom. Anyone with ideas on how to get rid of it?? I usually use a chlorox wipe when I clean the tray, but that hasn't helped.

Hi,

There's actually a description in the "tips" section at my website that should help you with this. Basically, there are actually two parts that will help -- the first being prevention. As cats tend to pee in pretty much the same area all the time, I always recommend a "rake and stir" every few days. This will help the crystals last longer by distributing damp ones and letting them release moisture, plus it will re-distribute that concentration of pee in that one area.

The stain is actually urine solid buildup on the tray. What I do is use Lysol Kitchen cleaner, and let it soak for a few minutes, and then take a scotchbrite sponge to the area. Works great!

Hope this helped!
