Thanks Betty -- good input. I'll put it on the list to see what we can figure out over the long term.

This is something that we also do with ours.

Hmmm.....

How about this as a short term solution? I still have a couple of the plastic jugs I used to get the Pet Essentials crystals in. I'm thinking I'll put one of the bags in one of those (keeps it dry by being in a closed container) and use that for adding back. Should last quite awhile.

Just a thought......(until we figure out something better).

That's a good idea, I have an almost empty jug myself. Thank you :D

Cool! The best kind of recycling -- keep using instead of tossing (the jugs).

Needless to say, we like that too........ :D

I just received an email from someone using the crystals congratulating me for being "#1".......

(He had to explain it to me)

Turns out that in only the first 30 days on Amazon, "Just the Crystals" has reached the status of #1 best selling litter in its category (Home and Garden: litter).

Wow. :D

Thanks to all of you who are using it!!!

Big wow and congrats to you. I'm about ready to order my next round of the litter. I wish those who purchased your litter would come here and post their thoughts. I know my opinion is high, but would love to see other feedback.

Thanks Betty -- I would also very much like to get some more inputs as well. One of the benefits of being a small operation is that I can respond directly to ideas and suggestions for improvements. For instance the whole idea of providing the crystals in pre-measured bags came from people writing to me asking about the ideal amounts to use.

So if anyone's reading this, please let me know if you have other ideas or feedback for improvement -- or if there's an aspect that you particularly like that we can make even better.

The bottom line is that it is direct inputs from users like you that help me improve the product.

I'm still on my first bag of these... I ordered 2 boxes (4 bags), and so far so good. Its been 2 weeks and 2 days, and I still have no odor with one cat useing that box. There is only a bad stink after a fresh doo-doo, which she never covers up (bad kitty), and I scoop that quickly if I'm home, of course. Otherwise I just scoop out the poop tray every 3 days. I also notice alot less tracking! :D

Thanks Jenn!

The part about the reduced tracking is what has me puzzled. I'm not complaining (less tracking is always a good thing). As I mentioned in one of my other posts, I noticed it as well during testing, but thought I was just wishful thinking that "my" crystals were that much better. Then Betty remarked about the same thing, and now you.

Coooooolllll......... :D

To be really honest, I can't take any credit at all for this added side benefit. It was pure luck, but I'm not complaining.........

We're going to revise the packaging a little for the next round -- try to improve the colors and make the printing on the box a little bigger (so you don't need a magnifying glass to read it!) The first goal though was obviously to make sure the performance was what we hoped for -- worry about prettier packaging later........

We thought about making the bags with a "zip" to open, but opted to make them the way they are to make them less likely to break open or leak in shipping (as these would always be shipped instead of picked up from a store) plus we wanted to keep the costs down. Are you finding this system is working OK for you with the individual bags?

Any and all info is helpful.............thank you.

Zipper bags wouldn't really make much sense since the bags are pre-measured for one use. The way they are now works fine... open the bag up, dump the crystals in, then throw the bag away. Easy.:)

I think you mean recycle the bags....... :D

The bags are made from recyclable plastic -- so both the box and the bag can be put in recycling.

We tried to think of all the little details..........

I agree that putting the crystals in a zipper bag is an unnecessary expense and feature. I am careful when I open it up though because they are tightly packaged and I don't want a litter explosion. That is not a complaint, I'm happy with the way they are.

I posted a review on Amazon and could not help but notice that the others, though just a few so far, are raving about the crystals also. I could have got away with just ditto, lol.

Take care, Betty

Only if your town actually has a recycling program established. My very tiny rural town does not have one. :(

Thanks Jenn for reminding me.....the whole recycling thing isn't as universal as we'd all like it to be.

And thanks to you both for taking the time to write (both feedback and reviews). It's people like you that are the most helpful in being able to make improvements.

Thanks to you both -- wishing you all the best for a happy and safe holiday season.

Hi Rick, my email address showed up saying I had a private message from you. For some reason I don't know, I am not authorized to use that part of the site. I admit I don't know how to find the administrator to even ask for help on the subject but I did write the question in the general topics section. So far, only 1 response and that person was not familiar with private messages. So, I'm sorry I was not able to read what you took the time to write.
Have a joyful holiday, Betty
