ScoopFree is an automatic box designed to be used with Fresh Step Crystals instead of regular litter

bought scoop free

I just bought a Scoop Free Automatic Litter box. Cross your fingers that my kitties use it. If they do, I plan to order the reusable litter receptacle.

I bought an LRII a couple of weeks ago, and I cannot get any of my five cats to use it. If none of the kitties use it in the next week, I will return it.
I bought the Scoop Free instead because my kitties seem to like the crystal litter. I also have a Litter Maid that my kitties have been using for years, but our new kitten refuses to use it. She likes the crystal litter, and if there is another kitties poop in it, she will not use it (she goes on the floor next to it). I am hoping the Scoop Free will solve this problem. I will probably have to change the crystals every 3 to 4 days as well.

Any suggestions?

Have you tried the old trick of sprinkling some "slightly used" litter from their old box in a thin layer on top of the crystals? That usually works extremely well......

Thank you! They are using it, so I am thrilled. I plan to order one of your reusable pans. With 5 cats, this is a must. I am just so thrilled I have founds something the kitten will use. She will not go if their is any other cat poop in the box, or if it smells. The Scoop Free seems to handle the problem. I still scoop the poop out from under the hood as soon as there is one, but it doesn't seem to bother the kitten as long as it is hidden.

Thank you, again.
