squeaking during cleaning operation

Postby abinder » Sat Dec 27, 2008 9:53 pm

The ScoopFree that I have for my daugther's 2 cats now squeaks during the cleaning operation. I'm using the ScoopFree refill trays and replace them every 2 weeks. It happens all of the time; with new and 2 week old refill trays. It seems to happen only when the rake gets to the point where it pushes the two white posts from the side up against the purple lid to raise it to scoop the poop into the 'poop area'. If I lift the the purple lid up so the white posts don't contact the purple lid, no squeaking occurs. But as soon as I allow the purple lid to contact the white posts, the squeaking begins. :(

I've wiped off any dust that accumulated from the white posts and purple lid, but the squeaking still continues whenever the white posts push up against the purple 'poop lid'.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

There may be some dust or crystal particles in the actual mechanism itself.

My suggestion is to contact SF's customer support directly. They're very helpful and can most likely give you some very simple solutions to the problem.
