Scoop Free and other litters

I know there's already a topic on this but I thought I'd ask anyway. we are getting a kitty for Christmas after 3 years of being promised lol. and I've settled on the SF for a litter box. Has anyone tried feline pine or the like in the SF? when we had a cat before that was the only litter we could find that would control the odor he was one stinky kitty. That was 4 ish years ago.

thanks for the advice,
Beth

I can't give you any info on feline pine. I can tell you that what you feed your cat will have a big impact on the amount of stink. And if kitty dosn't bury there isn't much that any litter can do about that. The cat food I am feeding now has made a big impact on the lowering the oder levels. Ive used several different ltters in the last 4 months and can say that they all controlled the stink about the same. Enjoy your new kitty!!

Don't you have to use crystal litter in the ScoopFree?

Some folks have experimented with other options with various results -- however indeed crystals do seem to work best. And in my experience the Fresh Step crystals are still the pick of the litter (er...so to speak....)
