Has anyone tried Dr. Elsey's Ultra Safe Crystals in their SF yet?

In playing with various crystals (OK.......not literally playing........) I've found that the critical factor is crystal size. If they're larger than the Fresh Step, they'll just bunch up at one end. Smaller (like the Mimi Crystals available at Walmart) is OK.

From there it's a question of whether they absorb well enough and how good they are at odor control.

I'd really be interested in what you find on these (effectiveness, price, where to buy), as I've sort of come full cycle and have been using the FS in 8lb. bags.

I've been using the Mimi or Tidy Cat (the only kind my Walmart stocks), and like you said, the Mimi doesn't have the absorption power, but at the low price it really isn't that hard to change every three weeks. I can get 4 weeks from the TC, which is dble the cost of the Mimi, so bottemline it's not bad.

I was doing an online search for FS last night and came across Dr. Elsey's Ultra Safe crystals at petfooddirect.com Seems pretty neat bc it's flushable, which I would love as I keep the SF in the bathroom. I could then every few days scoop the poop bin, flush and be done. I'm a bit worried though bc it says large size crystals, so that's why I thought I'd ask before buying a bag to try them out. Another thing that might creep me out a wee bit is that they are green, not blue. I'd have a hard time not thinking about Soylent Green when seeing those, ewwww!! LOL
