Mimi Crystals in ScoopFree?

Postby JENN » Wed May 30, 2007 11:31 pm

Has anyone tried those Mimi Crystals in their ScoopFree yet? I saw a 4 lb. bag of those at Walmart for a mere $3.86, while a 3.5 lb jug of Tidy Cat (which I've been using for the last 3 weeks ... not thrilled at the color, I prefer the blue, but otherwise they appear to work just as well as th Fresh Step) was $7.94. My Walmart doesn't carry Fresh Step so that's why I switched to Tidy Cat. last time.

I just ordered my Forever Tray and when that arrives I'll be doing a change and give Mimi a try. I bought a bag on my last trip into town. I'm not really liking the "made in China" written in bold on the package though, bc as we know animal import things from China have not been terribly kind to our critters recently. :( But who knows, maybe something in TC or FS is imported from China too. :(

I think crystals originated from China...

I tried the Mimi crystals, and they're OK -- not great. The don't control odor or absorb urine as well as the FS, but they're a good substitute.

What might work for you (to help with the color thing as well) is to do a 50/50 mix of the Mimi with your TC.

Have you tried asking your Walmart manager to bring in the FS crystals? They are on the shelf here in northern CA Walmart for $12.34 for an 8 lb. bag, which is a pretty good deal.

The walmart price is a great deal.....I bought 6 bags and stuck them in the garage. Went out there to do some laundry today and found 4 of the bags ripped open and crystals EVERYWHERE! My cats can't leave anything alone!
