Question for TC crystal users

ScoopFree is an automatic box designed to be used with Fresh Step Crystals instead of regular litter

Question for TC crystal users

Postby JENN » Thu Mar 08, 2007 4:41 pm

I read on here someone is successfully using Tidy Cat crystals wth a perm. tray. My father is making me a tray and yesterday I went to Wally World and picked up a jug of TC crystals. It's the *only* crystals they carry around here too, the nearest petsmart is miles away..

Anyway, the jug says 3.5 lbs., yet the bag in my cartridge says 4.5 lbs. Do the people that use Tidy Cat (and honestly they look the same to me, they are blue just like FS is) add more to their box then just one jug?

I used the SF for a while and tried the Tidy Cat crystals. They worked fine and I used whatever was in the container -- I believe it was less than 4 lbs. That actually worked better for my cats.

Why in the world would you ever choose the Litter Robot over the Scoopfree? I hear those are a lot more work, smelly and quite a pain to clean.

I just love this Scoopfree litter box, it's completly hassle-free for me! :)

I did a comparison between both the SF and LR and reported on this:

viewtopic.php?t=1592

I liked the SF alot but basically I chose the LR over the SF despite the cleaning issues because the LR gave me more of what I wanted in a litter box. I thought the LR would be more reliable, last the longest, and be more cost-effective. I remove the waste daily and this is easier to do with the LR. It cycles in seven minutes after my cats use it. This keeps the poop smells at a minimum in my house. I liked the flexibility of having more litter choices. With the SF, the waste would sometimes end up in the home area of the box rather than under flap. Because I leave town upon occasion I wanted a reliable box that no one really had to fiddle with when I was gone. The LR had no "fiddle" issues with the exception of cleaning it and I think all litter boxes need to be cleaned and litter changed on a regular basis.
