How do you empty a refillable tray?

Postby baldyy » Thu Nov 30, 2006 7:08 pm

With all the talk about refillable trays, I'm definately thinking about making my own. There's a company in my area (TAP Plastics) that sells plastic sheets, etc., and will even custom fabricate!

So here's my question. If I do make a reusable tray, how does one empty it after its full of waste? Take it to a trash can and dump? That seems pretty darn messy, especially the poo flap part. Liners seem to defeat the purpose, and my cat is a digger.

slip a garbage bag over it and empty it into that. its not that difficult.

the quote I got from Tap plastics was 120 per hour plus materials.

If you read the messages, the liner issue is addressed. The liner does not defeat the purpose, it actually extends the length of time you can use the cardboard tray. It is dig proof and pee proof.
