Where to put ScoopFree

Postby jfs1234 » Tue Jun 06, 2006 5:46 am

Where do folks put their ScoopFree? Mine is currently in my bathroom, but it only has outlets over the sink so the chord gets in the way. I can't put it in the kitchen. I suppose I could put it in my bedroom, though it might look odd. Can it go on carpet? Or is it better on tiled floor?

I hate the fact that I have two Scoop Frees displayed in my den about 15 feet from the kitchen and breakfast table. You walk into my home - nice tile, then wood floor, bar, pool table, overlooking the backyard, swimming pool, etc then you see the beautiful 3 foot tall carved Indian wood panels. Hmmmm. What's behind there? Ahh - boxes filled with blue pellets. What's that stink? Oh - cat boxes.

I hate them there.

Our cat has a nervous habit - in one box, out then in the other . Maybe its time to see if there is room under the bathroom sink.

I enclosed my little patio in the back yard with grid panels so the cats could have an outside area. I keep the boxes both out there with an extension cord that goes thru the cat flap in the glass door. Works just fine and I don't have to be reminded about my litterbox obsession every waking minute.

You mean the cats go outside to use the boxes?

well, ya. it isn't 'outside' as in a grassy area, it is the concrete patio. there is a sliding glass door with a panel that has a cat flap. It is as 'outside' as they get to be. They have a cat tree and some shelves and stuff out there. Its kind of their den, for lack of a better word. They just hang out and wish they could get the critters that are beyond their reach.

Here is a link to some crappy pics. Maybe you can get a better idea of what I'm talking about.

there are a bunch of pics, so weed thru them if you want.

Whoa - that is quite the set up.

AS far as the original poster's question, carpet or a rug may screw up the balance and give off errors to the machine. Wood floors or tile are the best.

As for location, I am on a conquest to find the perfect attractive wood cabinet that is at least 60-70 inches long, 20-22 deep with doors in the front to hide my two units. A nice attractive hole on the side and we have ourselves a decorative cabinet for the litterboxes.

Litterbox Placement

Postby SF_Lucky » Tue Jun 13, 2006 12:41 pm

I have my ScoopFree in my living room next to the couch. You can place the ScoopFree most anywhere in a dry environment. Crystals absorb moisture. Therefore I would not recommend placing ScoopFree in a bathroom used for showers or any other humid place.
