Where to find cheapest cartridges?

Postby Rudy's and Daisy's Human » Tue May 09, 2006 6:33 pm

I've had it for ten mnutes and I LOVE IT!

I need to stock up on cartridges since I'm leaving a catsitter with my babies for a few months. What's the best price you've found?

btw, I LOVE my scoopfree.

I adore it.

My female cat has already used it, but the real test will be if she poos in it. (she's kind of an out-of-the -box kinda cat at times), My male cat is really skittish and complicated matters by winding in my feet during setup, making me drop the pruple thingy on him. Not good. But he is back to checking it out, so I think it'll be okay.

Forgot to add that I'm leaving for a few months, but my husband will be here for all but three weeks. It's the longest I've ever left the cats and I am worried -- it's not like I have a habit of dumping my babies for a few months at a time.

Husband was VERY against automatic litter box but then again, he seems to be against litter in general. If I'm changing it, I'm getting a damn box. :) He'll thank me when I'm gone and he doesn't have to change the box.

We had a littermaid for a year, but it was messy and sticky, though I tried to pretend it was easier. When the second one broke, we threw it away and went back to scooping.

I got an omega paws, but it really is a pain in the butt and my fat cats don't like the cover. So... it was a sifting/scooping situation around here.

We'l see how things progress.

HI and welcome! Your husband will change his tune when he sees how great this thing is. Would he rather scoop?? I think not!
Whoever comes in during the 3 weeks that he wont be there willl thank you too!

Do your cats dig? Mine do and ripped the bottom of the tray in a short period of time. That can create a problem in that it can get wet, and wet cardboard isn't good. I solved the problem by cutting a piece of coroplast (that is the corrugated plastic that signs are made from) to fit the bottom of the tray and then put the litter over it. No more rips!

As far as the refills go, if you use the coroplast in the bottom of the original tray, you can just dump the litter and reuse the tray with store bought litter crystals. Much cheaper than buying the factory ones, but you should do something to protect the bottom of the tray to keep it from getting scratched up.

good luck

oooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

thanks.....

my kitties love to dig. That was the problem with litter box liners. They shredded them.

I've been around the form as Lesley, but somehow I couldn't log in again. So now, I'm Rudy and Daisy's human. :)

So far, my kitties haven't take to it, but there is a rare clean litter box right near by. I'll start removing the litter from the old one gradually.

This was my tactic. My cat started using the ScoopFree immediately, and since she was splitting time between the two, I just completely got rid of the old one in 3 days.

Daisy has begun some of her out-of-the-box thinking....

Last time she did this, it was a medical thing. I think we need to visit the vet again.

*sigh*

I got a bag of the crystals and dusted the top with some of the old litter. i then just let it get nasty too and Phil started to use it without much of a problem.

Walter's owner: Did they come from Amazon or petsmart?

The ones that show June ship date, I dont think you are going to get the same deal. I had some that showed the June date and just received 6 of them, in seperate boxes. When I told them of the error, they refunded my money and said they didnt realize how widespread the error was and were not going to honor the deal. They told me to send them back. Ha!

I'm concerned because there is pee in the scoopfree but so far, no poo.

I removed the old box so it's now or never. Wish me luck.

You wont see pee. It doesnt clump remember - it is absorbed.
