Big Kitty

I'm interested in getting the ScoopFree with the hood but I have a big old Maine Coon Cat. Does any one think this will pose a problem? She is also afraid of her own shadow. Is it really whisper quiet as claimed?
Thanks

How big is your cat?

It's not anywhere close to whisper quiet. I can hear it run from anywhere in the house ... but sound carries well in our house. It's not obnoxious. I can't compare it to a LitterMaid, but it's definitely a lot quieter than any of the Litter Robots we've had.

It has more room than the Litter Robot and the cycle time is less than 60 seconds and quieter than the Robot.

My 18 lb male uses it just fine even with the hood. But like the others say, it certainly isn't quiet. There's a fairly long delay between the cat using the box and the cycle starting (20 minutes I think) so it seems unlikely to startle her. My skittish one was near it when it started up once and she got kinda low and the ears went back but she still uses it.

Thanks for the response. Sapphire is about 18 lbs now (we've been on a diet) but still very fluffy. I've had cats all my life (52years). As much as I love them, I am so beyond changing cat boxes. I don't move around as well and a reliable automatic box will be what allows my to continue to have cats. As I mentioned, my 16 yr old kitty frightens easily but 20 minutes maybe enough time for her not to know where it coming from. She's not a digger and likes the crystals.

Same size?

Hi Folks,

The litter bed of ScoopFree measures 14" by 14".

We setup a new Littermaid Mega Elite in our office the other day, filled it to the maximum fill line and then measured the litter bed. Guess what? It also measures 14" by 14".

One additional note: Scoop Free has a smaller foot print than the Littermaid Mega Elite (even without the ramp installed).
