Improved Version of Petmate Purrforma

Postby mijoy17 » Mon Nov 29, 2004 7:38 pm

I just went online and ordered the newer version of the Petmate Purrforma. The newer features include:

-Safety Stops - automatically stops twice in reverse mode

-Automatic Cycles - in addition to sensory operation, rake now runs in automatic 4 hour cycles

-Added Tines - rake has 5 more tines to significantly reduce waste particles

-New Rollers - rollers added to rake for smoother rake travel

-Liner Fasteners - new fastener system to secure liner better

-Improved Instructions - more images, separate languages and large type

-Increased Voltage - 150% more power

-Stainless Steel Rake - easier to clean than plastic

-Easy Rake Removal - new rake is easier to remove for cleaning

-Auto-Reverse - now in both directions

-ONE Second Sensor Activation - when rake is resting

-THREE Second Activation - when rake is moving

-Pan Liner - new sanitary pan liner

I'd like to know if anyone has used this newer version and what they think of it.

so far, so good

Postby mijoy17 » Fri Dec 03, 2004 11:09 pm

I have had the new and improved Petmate for 2 days now. It seems to be working very well so far. I must say though, this thing is HUGE. If you live in a small apartment, this would not be the litter box for you. It is about 2 feet wide and 2.5 feet long. It reminds me more of a bathtub than a litterbox!

However, it seems to be functioning fine and was a breeze to set up. I will post more as I get more use out of it.

I bought it online through petsmart.com. It was $200 with a $50 rebate. It is still working just great!

Great! I had called Petmate and asked who was selling the improved model, and they recommended Petco. I wanted to make sure I wasn't buying the old one! I ordered it this morning. I'm so glad it is still working for you. Gives me hope!. How easy is it to clean? I like how it has the replaceable liners. That was always my problem a few years back when I had the littermaid. I even lost it when it got stolen drying out after being hosed off outside my apartment. I had recently tried toilet training with the CatSeat. But that was a waste of time with my 2 stubborn cats. Anyway, here's to one more try. Thanks for replying.

The liners work very well. I ran out of them and just started using the plastic bags you get with groceries. It's a bit of a tight squeeze, but seems to be working just fine.

I have been using the LitterMaid cat litter, and it works fantastically. Let me know if you have anymore questions!

UPDATES?

Postby kranz68osu » Tue Mar 01, 2005 10:38 am

Are you still finding that the new purrforma is working well for you? I currently am on my third littermaid and I am debating between the purrforma and the LR.
