All I can say is I love my Litter Robot. Every bit of worth the money. So far I have had no problems with it and both cats are using it. It's awesome. All I do is change the bag every 3-4 days because I have two cats. I've emptied the whole thing once and cleaned it all out since I've had it which has been a few months I guess since March I believe. Rose

Purrforma Self cleaning litter box

Postby nstejada » Tue Jun 27, 2006 11:53 am

This product is a rip off! I have had it for a little over a year and now it has stopped working. No one fixes them; not even the company. The company doesn't have replacement parts. And they have no solutions for you when you call and need help with repairs. It's expensive and then it doesn't work. I recommended staying far away from this product!!! :(

Purrforma Automated Litterbox

Postby TweetieMarie » Mon Sep 25, 2006 11:59 am

My advice: DO NOT BUY :!:
This product's CONCEPT is awesome! However, It needs to go back to the drawing board! The rake gets stuck and several times a day the litter clumps up behind it. The pins that hold up the rake shear off. Hmmm, no replacement parts!? "Stuff" sticks to the rake leaving it a mess & then of course it does not scoop properly. If you think you can go off for a day and leave it, you are mistaken. It has to be constantly checked to make sure the rake doesn't get stuck and continue running the motor. This is finally what burned out the motor, and again, NO REPLACEMENT PARTS! I paid over $200 for mine with tax and shipping, and it did not last a year. This thing was more work than a regular litter pan and scooping, and I had to scoop it anyway!

It sure seems like the "moving rake" design employed in a number of different boxes is fundamentally flawed. Has anyone ever heard of a device that uses this approach actually working properly for any length of time ?

Purrforma RAKE

Postby TweetieMarie » Tue Sep 26, 2006 2:29 am

Hey Michael, maybe we could get together and invent a rake that would be totally awesome, and actually WORK! I do have some
Seriously, I havent seen one yet

The problem is that while intuitively it should work, in practice it does not. Too strong a rake just breaks the clumps into little pieces, and too weak a rake just breaks itself. :(

I think some people have had success using the pearl-type litter, but not all cats like that stuff and it is very expensive.
