Purforma----UGH----, if id only known sooner.

I wish that i had found this message board before i bought 2 purforma units from petsmart. I had them each about 3mo. I came down stairs three days ago to find one of them just making an awful noise. The rakes was not moving and it was doing nothing but clicking over and over again. I decided to open it up and found inside the gear box that the gears were slightly stripped and no longer lined up. I placed the unit in the garage and hoped the other unit would be fine. Three days later the same thing happened to the other one as well. I called up petmate and they were willing to replace both units if i send them 2 inches of the belt on the inside as well as my credit card statment from when i bought them. I am going to take the two units they send me and most likely just turn around and sell them. These units are by far the cheapest made, I mean once you open them up and see what drives them it is no wonder why they broke. At least the litter maids would last about a year and a half each.

I am going to wait for the catgenie. Maybe that is the answer.
