Smells issue?

Postby JD » Thu Jul 31, 2008 8:29 pm

Hi all,
Am at wit's end. Have had LitterMaids for years. They were great, but eventually all died. The new ones are awful and the new company has lousy tech support. I got a LitterRobot. Loved it. One of my cats developed IBD about 3 mos. after switched to the LR. Took us almost 2 years to "fix" her, but now she hates litterboxes (associates 'em with pain/sloppy poops/etc. and REALLY really hates the LR. Will not use it. Period. Ruined the control panel by peeing on it. ETC.

She is wrecking furniture etc. because she is so box-phobic that if anyone has even looked at the darn box before she goes in, she won't use it. I've changed a million litters. 7 boxes.

I'm looking at the SC, but since she bolts from every use like she's shot out of a cannon, she never, ever covers. This means I've got an hour of an uncovered poop sitting there in my living room (this danged house has no space for pets) and is it true that there is no cover for this box???

Can you users weigh in on the stink factor?
Thanks JD

Are you sure your cat's IBD is OK? She might still be having pain in the box if she runs like that. One of my cats nearly died from IBD, it wasn't until I found the website www.catnutrition.org and started him on a raw meat diet that he was cured. If you are not 100% sure she's all better you might want to try that.

Anyway I just got a Smart Scoop, and received my upgrade kit, set up the box today and it seems to be working well. You might want to look into it.
