Simply Clean 10 Month Update

Postby Catsoline » Wed Jun 25, 2008 1:36 pm

I'm just popping in to give an update on my Simply Clean. It's been 10 months since I purchased the unit, except for the initial problem I had things have been remarkably good. Both the boys use the box on a regular basis, I'd still like to have higher sides but that would mean the bowl would have to be larger too. Since having the Simply Clean we also purchased a Litter Robot which I like just as much as the Simply Clean. The LR is on the first floor, it looks big but takes up less space than the SC ( I have a small house). The SC is in the cellar level where I have space to place it in a small child's wadding pool to catch the kicked out litter making it very easy to clean up with a dustbuster like vacuum. One of the boys likes the LR the other is not as fond of it and prefers the openness of the SC, having both gives them what they want and we all know that when a kitty wants something they will make your life miserable until they get it.

Both machines are used equally, I'm using WBCL Xtra Strength with a little charcoal in the collection bins which takes care of odors very well. If either machine should bite the dust they will be replaced ASAP, both have made keeping my two boys happy very easy.

Anyone other long time Simply Clean owners out there?

Good to know you are happy with the Simply Clean. This would be one of the litter boxes I would consider if I ever replace the LR.

I've just switched away from WBCL and am trying one of the Arm & Hammer litter varieties. I found that the WBCL got milled into a fine powder after about a week, and the cats would track it everywhere as they couldn't shake it out of their paws.

I've been running 2 Simply Cleans for a almost 2 years now, and they are still going strong. No problems with smell, clogging, sticking, jamming, etc, it doesn't waste litter, is quiet, uses very little power. Been using Scoop Away "Free" (was called "Unscented" previously) almost exclusively.

So in summary it has been 22.5 months of litterbox happiness. :D
