crystals?

The Simply Clean sifts litter slowly and continuously. Talk about it here.

crystals?

Has anybody tried using crystals in this unit? Might make it easier to use.

Thanks

I doubt the crystals would fit between the fingers of the conveyor. But I've only seen crystals in the store, haven't tried them in my Simply Clean.

I'm trying out crystals right now. I've gotten really tired of all the tiny pieces of poo and urine that have broken off. I think my cats are tired of them too. I have experience with the crystals in our other litter box, Scoop Free, and think they work great. I've just changed the litter in the box today and will wait a few days to see how it performs. I'll let you know how it goes.

I've been trying out crystals in the box for over a week now. Because the crystals are obviously much larger than regular litter, there is a bit of a grinding noise as the two metal conveyer piece bars moves back and forth to pick up the waste. Unfortuately it still breaks up the pieces of poo into small pieces that get left behind. However the box is cleaner than before because they are not the broken pieces of urine clumps also.

So, while not perfect, the box is cleaner than with regular litter. Also, because the urine is absorbed by the crystals and not formed into clumps that are then distributed in the waste collection bin, you don't have to empty the bin anywhere near as often as it's only the poop being deposited in the waste can.

Now that it has been a year post crystals in this box, how goes it?
