Delivery time? Knock-off brand...

Omega Paw has an inexpensive, manually-operated litter box that uses gravity to collect waste in a tray.

Delivery time? Knock-off brand...

It seems that no stores around here actually carry this litterbox. It is only available through their catalogs or over the net. How long did it take for you to receive it with regular shipping? Also, would it work with the hardwood pellets or Swheat?

Has anyone seen this sold at Cat Shows? I am attending one this weekend and perhaps could pick one up then.

Walmart and Pet Supermarket both carry a type of litterbox that rolls to clean it and has a drawer. It is only $19.99. Has anyone tried it? I think it is too small for me. I have a large cat, and he needs a little more space -- so I am thinking the larger Omega Paws is what I will need.

Just thought I would ask!

I've seen the Omega Paw litter boxes in Petco stores. I have one, but I ordered mine online from http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/p ... pCatId=788

I bought the large one for $32.99, and it only took 4 days to receive it. I've seen the small ones in the store, and they would be too small if you have a big cat, it was very compact inside. I have 2 cats, and the large box works out good for them. I only use Tidy Cats litter, I've never tried the pellets or Swheat litter.

All in all the litter box works out pretty good. It's much better than the regular litter boxes, because you can just roll it on its side, verses having to scoop it yourself.

I'm still seriously considering buying the Litter Robot, because even though the Omega Paw works out well, the LR would be even less work for me!

If it only took four days, I think I will order one. I was afraid it was 4-6 weeks (standard thing they say when you order something). I looked at the knock-off brand in the discount stores and I think it looks small and thin. I would rather get something I know works!

After all, the Omega Paw is still cheaper than the Littermate that died in six months. I am burned enough from that experience to prevent me from a huge expense like the litter robot -- though it does sound like the perfect litterbox.

Thanks for the info.

I would still be interested to hear if anyone has tried the generic one, as a second box (instead of the main box).

Good luck with your Omega Paw if you decide to go with that one. I think you'll like it, its much better then the generic litter boxes. Anything that saves me from having to actually scoop it myself, I'm all for giving it a try.

I've never used any of the automatic boxes like Littermaid, LF, LR, etc... and from the sounds of the Littermaid, I'm glad I've never tried that one! I'm pretty skeptical about buying things that cost that much money, but the LR sounds like it holds true to its word.

I've been using the Omega Paw for about 2 months, and still like it. I also use the Litter Locker ( http://www.Litterlocker.com ) to empty the waste in, and that thing is awesome - well worth the price. It seals in the waste in a 7 layer bag, and you don't have to empty it for 2 weeks, and the best part is - it doesn't smell AT ALL. :)

It didn't take long and there are two sizes...

The delivery didn't take long - I thought it was quick though I don't remember exactly how long.

It is important to know that there are two sizes of the Omega box: small and large. We have only seen the small in stores locally, so if you have a bigger cat or multiple cats you should really consider ordering the larger one online.

Good luck and let us know how things work out.

Tori,

I have been using the LitterLocker a few weeks now. I agree with you. I really like how good it is. I worry about flushing waste, even when it says it is flushable. I also hate trekking it out to the garbage every time I scoop. We try to scoop for our two cats twice a day. Then you end up with a thousand SMELLY plastic bags in the garbage can. Consequently, scooping isn't such a horrible chore and gets done...

Now, if I just get the large Omega Paw box, I will have th litterbox problem conquered completely.

Hi Linda,

I agree, the Litter Locker is a wonderful invention! I compare it to the Diaper Genie for babies, they work about the same, I can't ever smell any odor at all with mine.

You should definitely consider buying the Omega Paws box, you'll be so glad once you get it. I'm still using mine, and it works great at an affordable price too. If I could afford a Litter Robot, I would purchase one of those, but unfortunately it's a bit too price for my budget right now, so I'll settle with Omega for the time being. :)

Thanks to all for your feedback. I was just about ready to bite the bullet and order the LR, but after reading on I am saving a bundle (and my relationship) by ordering the Omega Paws.

I also purchased the Litter Locker recently, but after only three days I feel there's some serious quality issues. The second time I turned the locker, the wheel fell out of place and it just doesn't seem like a solid unit. I was in PetSmart today and the manager advised me to bring it back for an exchange because he's never had one returned by an unsatified customer. Your comments on this have swayed me to give it another shot.

Thanks again and I'll let you know how it all works out.

Enjoy the holiday weekend!

Re: Omega and litter locker

I am trying the Omega at this moment. I's an okay product, but its more better than the regular litterbox. However, I do have several problems with it.

1) my cat likes to pee at the inside the back of the Omega, so the clumps actually gather at the back and don't roll over with the rest of the smaller clumps. I have to get the scoop and scrape at it then roll it over again. I tried the non-sticking spray but it doesn't work unless its sprayed every single day, which is time consuming. Even then, the plastic starts changing colors as if the spray is slowing eating away at it (I don't know if that is true)

2) There is no flap to hold the flying spray of sand and its everywhere. But that just might be my cat taking the litter with her.
3) It's heavy to roll and the space is limited to roll it.
4) The tray should be enlarged, so that I can roll it every other day instead of everyday but then again, that still might not work.

Other than that, I still think its better than the regular litter box and may be equal in quality with the lift and sift. Anyone tried the lift and sift? Would like to know the difference in quality.

I found the litterlocker to be pretty good but it didn't hold up for 2 months. My cat pees a lot and its done in 1.5 months. However, I noticed that the bag broke inside and left a mess. I guess I may have thrown the litter too quick and it might have ripped the bag. Wow, the refill costs $10 each, for every two months so that would cost me around $60 per year. I don't know if that is worth it. I could just use those litter pails that have a lid and put a plastic bag in it and throw the litter in there and close the lid. The result is the same except when the lid is opened, the smell is there, whereas the litterlocker there won't be.
