Omega Paws

Omega Paw has an inexpensive, manually-operated litter box that uses gravity to collect waste in a tray.

I bought one ten years ago, and then bought a second one in large.
These work extremely well for the initial cost.
It helps to clean them out daily and use fairly good litter.

The best method is to turn it over and almost upside down, then give the bottom a solid rap or two to knock the stuff sticking to bottom off.

I bought one for my sister and another one for my brother - way back years ago for Christmas presents.

At this point I still have one, it is on the patio waiting for me to retrieve it and put it back together.

My twenty pound cats used the bigger one but there ought to be a giant sized one for older arthritic cats.

I used littermaid - always buy the bigger one of this brand as well. I got angry with the stupid rake and gave the littermaids to my niece and went back to regular cat boxes do to a lack of funds.

Then I tried Littersweep but immediately took it back and got another Littermaid. They didn't have any Omega Paw - which is what I wanted.

Omego Paw is worth the money, works better is you clean it once a day, and sometimes it needs to be just plain cleaned out and sanitized by the sun and rain.

Is anyone still on this board?

Anyway, I have two questions about my Omega Paw. I get litter trapped on the side where the hood and grill meet- the one side that does NOT have a latch. When I roll, it sometimes sneaks out. Is it just me, or should there be a latch on that side also?

Also, how do folks dump the whole box when it is time to change? It seems hard to do without spilling.

I recently bought an OmegaPaw Large due to the posts on this board. To answer your question, I have at least one latch on three sides -- 2 in the back, 2 on Left side, 1 in front.

I do not have the issue to which you speak. However, when I first got the OmegaPaw, I was a bit confused as to exactly how to put it together -- the instructions were not real clear. After studying it for a few minutes, I learned that in putting it together the vents need to be pointing down and that the "bump" in the solid "flat flap" should be pointed up. It did require a little bit of force to secure the "flat flap" into the groves of the unit. But, every roll...no litter on the floor...AND no mess!

I have been AMAZINGLY surprised at the simplicity...and effectiveness! Where was OmegaPaw 30 years ago!!!
