Motor Runs, Rake Dosen't Move

Postby jenmas » Wed Mar 17, 2010 12:32 pm

I was hoping that someone could help me out. My fear is that my motor is kaput, but I thought I would check here first to see if anyone has some ideas on how to fix.

Even when the box is empty it will try to move forward, but after a inch or so it stick, but it's not really sticking. The motor is trying to move, but the gears are not moving..... it's like they're not engaging. If I give it a push forward or DOWN (go figure) it will move another inch or so. It has no problem going back to the home position? Anyone have any ideas. Customer service said it's a year and half old, no more warrantee, I could buy a new one for $130. It hasn't been working for a couple of weeks, starting to go insane having to clean it all the time!

thank

I had one do this, the gears on the rake were worn out.

I swapped them out with some from a dead unit and it works fine now.
