Anyone know how to fix?

Postby danniemac » Tue Feb 03, 2004 12:11 am

I have a littermaid that stopped working. I opened up the compartment and noticed that urine had gotten inside. now the light comes on but no movement. I actually ahd it working for a couple of hours, but it stopped again (i jiggled some wires inside). Anyone else have this problem and fixed it?

know how to fix?

Well i couldn't get it fixed at all. I eventually just removed the rake and use it as a plain old box and scoop it at night. The funny thing is the cats use that one more than the littermaid! My finicky cat before she goes into the working littermaid, sniff and smells and scratches at the top of the container that holds the waste. She hates smelling it and knows that there is stuff in there! I am really contemplating the litter robot but i just don't know if they would use it. The globe seems soooo small and even if they stick their head out, it looks uncomfortable for my 2. We will see!

Warranty or Repair Service

Postby debnroo » Mon Mar 22, 2004 1:55 pm

If you are within 1 year of purchase, you should get Warranty Service. Call 800-548-6243 to get troubleshooting help.

If you are not within Warranty, call 800-738-0245 for Parts. Most replacement parts are inexpensive and relatively easy to replace.

Cheers!

Thanks! It is actually older than a year. When i called them (when it first broke) they said they didn't know what was wrong with it...."it could be a variety of things" that shorted. Thanks though, i'll check back with them!

Same thing happened to my Littermaid Litterbox. This was just after I cleaned it though. I found that somehow I got a little clay juice (like cement) on one of the little "eyes". When I cleaned it out, it worked fine again. It was weird because it always thought there was a cat there, so the light was solid, yet it never ever started.

They seem to last just past warranty

My second Litter Maid just died. May it RIP. I mainly got it to keep my dog from "snacking" from the box (yuck!) I tried every litter I could find and finally decided the World's Greatest Cat litter was best. I still had to scoop/scrape the bottom when emptied every 2 days (2 Maine Coon cats). The rake stayed full of clumps and generally gross. I just ordered a Litter Robot.[img] :(

There is a posting on Ebay for a guide to fix LM

It has instructions on most problems, and the seller also sells replacement parts (or you could get those elsewhere).
