Anyone know when the patents on the Litterfree will expire?

Postby Pelvis Popcan » Thu Mar 17, 2005 6:41 am

Just wondering when the date will finally arrive for a company to release a clone. I have no idea how many patents Litterfree has or when they were approved.

Hopefully someone knows!

I was only able to find the trademarks :/

The patent side of the house was a bit harder to "search". Maybe you could come up with something :)

I have the full text of both the US and international patents. They are not going to expire for a very long time. The patent number is listed on the box itself on the label on the back if you want to look it up.

No, I don't. I know when the patents were filed, but I have no idea how long they last.

Build LitterFree-like machines anyway?

Postby cj » Sat Apr 02, 2005 10:14 pm

Ideas

If someone wanted to build LitterFree machines, or machines that are similar, one could pay Tal Gordon patent infringement money as cost of doing business - provided Tal pursued patent infringement. He may not.

Provided Tal Gordon renewed his patents (he may NOT have renewed them - which is another thing to look into), patents can only be enforced
for max. of 21 years, and at least five years has gone by already.

Someone ought to see if he even renewed them - they have to be
renewed annually.

Another idea is to build machines that don't infringe. There are many
ways to build a cat washing machine, like LitterFree.

You can check on the patents here:

http://www.uspto.gov/

I would give you the direct link but it is an active server page and woul donly get you to the search page.

You can search trademarks and patents there.

If you have trouble, you can get me the patent numbers and I can see what I can do...
