Automatic Litterbox Central

I changed the granuals, and couldn't get it working again. The current problem is that it doesn't stop filling the box with water; I get an Err 1 error message, but sometimes only after the box has overfilled.

There are three holes in the black caulk tape: one in the middle and one on either side. Is the hole in the middle supposed to be there?
