Is LitterFree Out of Business???

The Litterfree has been discontinued, but it still has a loyal following. Ask questions or share tips here.

Just called Pet Food Express and was told they are very limited on supplies for the LitterFree system. They will only sell supplies to those customers who purchased the original system from them.

Since I referenced a message board as my source of information, she requested that I post this and perhaps save some people the call and from getting turned down on requests.
Have a nice day! Unless you have other plans.

I guess Petsmart learned of Litterfree going out of business and probably wanted to recoup. Anyway, check with your local PetSmart, and if they don't have any, see if they can order from the one in my neighborhood (Store #0181, 4005 W. Airport Frwy, Irving, TX, Phone # 972-255-0027).

Yipes! Just figure out today that L-Free is gone. Have three cats and can't even _think_ about 'real' litter!

I need granules the most, but would lay in some chemical too... those of you who have found a substitute for granules or chemicals...what are they? I see references to substitutes being available, but no other info about what/where.

thanks!

Any updates about the future of Litterfree?

Postby scoobeedoo » Tue Jul 22, 2003 8:13 am

Any updates about whether the manufacturer of Litterfree is reorganizing or has been acquired?

I am considering getting a Litterfree, but don't want to buy a product that is not supported in terms of warranty, availability of cleaning solution, etc.

The whole purpose of getting a self cleaning litter box is to make my life easier. Chasing all across town (and beyond) for the last of the Litterfree stuff does not do that.

Supplies should be available at PetSmart and PetCo within two weeks.

Repair by new Litterfree company?

Postby vdeegan » Wed Jul 23, 2003 1:32 pm

Two questions:

1) Do those of you who have some information on the new Litterfree company, have any idea of whether the company would honor the warranties of the units bought from the old company?
I may need to get mine repaired and wanted to know.

2) My problem is as follows. Has anyone experienced this with their unit: After running okay for 2-3 months, the unit continues to run through its fill/process/fan/drain cycles as it always did, but, now, during the fill cycle, nothing gets filled; i.e. no water comes in at all. I checked for twisted hosing and low water pressure as the manual said, but no help. Any ideas?

Thanks.

I read that the former owners of this company,Litter free are upset that consumers are calling and requesting information about the product they purchused in good faith. My feeling is tough. They were obviously fiscally iresponsible and left probably hundreds of people, and cats who are litterally dependant on their product high and dry. To go out of business is one thing bu tto leave people with no information on how to continue using their product is the height of irresponsibility. If their biggest concern is changing their telephone number my heart certainly does not go out to them. I say as soon as they do change their number , someone should find the new number, post and we should continue to call them in an attempt to force them to post answers to legitamate consumer questions about their product. There is nothing more powerfull than consumers who have been hoodwinked and betrayed. SHAME ON THESE PEOPLE!

I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY BOTH COMPANIES THAT SUPPLIES HAVE BEEN DISCONTINUED AND THEY HAVE PULLED ALL THE REAMINING STOCK. PET FOOD EXPRESS WAS THE ONLY PLACE I COULD FIND THE PRDUCT AND SENT A FRIEND TO BUY AS MUCH AS THEY COULD!

No need to yell. I will check into it. The company did not deliberately go out of business just to upset people.

You read that in one of my posts, I believe.
I spoke with the former head's son, and overheard the mother squawking in the background. He knew only that his father was no longer in any way associated with the company, and had only a number in Israel for the actual patent holder and continuing manufacturer.
He explained that his mother was very upset with the phone number being posted on the internet, as they could not help.
I offered to request the post containing their personal information be removed from the forum, and thanked him for his time.
<rant>
Reactions like yours- are why I made that request on their behalf.
The guy got fired, the parent company closed their doors.
What makes you think it's personal!?
There are many posts here regarding options and hope for a new company, and you still have a bad taste in your mouth!?
Perhaps you should just move on.......

I have about 40 boxes of never-opened scented granules for sale.
I will sell them for $30/box and that includes shipping.
