Getting the lid off the solution bottle

Postby mcwillis » Wed May 21, 2003 1:40 pm

So now that it's looking like we're going to have to create our own solution for a while, how have people gotten the lid off of the solition bottle? I'm worried about prying it off and not being able to get it back on.

Suggestions?

It looks like the lids are held on by four tabs - I would suggest using a small screwdriver, and pushing firmly and slowly on each tab while pulling up on the lid - that should displace the lid upward just enough that you can move on to the next tab until you have done all four.

By the way, I think that previous poster who suggested the Roccal-D originally did so mainly because the disinfectant ingredient is the same as what is in the cartridges. I plan to check with my vet before actually using it.

i don't know if anyone has tried this. i haven't run out yet, but . . .

how about making a hole in the top (not the 'bottom' where the soap dispenses into the unit) and pouring or injecting the replacement cleaner in there. i figured placing a rubber stopper in there -- securely -- would avoind all of the connector breakage crap.

This approach has worked great for me .... I took a 1/2 in drill bit and made a nice clean hole and filled with water and some pet stain deodorized/cleaner (generic pet smart type brand) ... I had an old eye dropper and the cap worked as a nice plug to keep the spilling to a minimum while transporting a full one refill back into place...

Would anyone be will ing to sell a empty container I as a few others only have my latest one and really could use one or two backup bottles...
