Litter Welcome Mat

Postby PaigeCSLP » Thu Apr 15, 2004 10:41 am

For all of you Litter Free users who are worried about running out of crystals (although PetSmart.com is selling them again), I found this great product that works really well. I saw it mentioned on this board previously and thought I'd try it.

It works great for the Litter Free crystals because it captures the crystals inside of a collection tray covered by a grid that the cat walks on when it gets out of the box. Every so often you just remove the grid and pour the crystals back into the LitterFree. It has cut down on the tracking of the crystals through the house by about 90%. I used to have to sweep them up from all over the lower level of my home after 1 or 2 uses and put them back in the box. Now I only have to sweep up a small area directly around the mat about once a week.

If anyone is interested the website is: http://www.grouponepetproducts.com/home.html

Litter Welcome Mat

Thanks for the tip! This product looks like a great idea for any type of litter box. Of course, LitterFree is the best litter box around and I hope the company comes back again.

Thank you !!!!!!

I ordered two of them (I have two boxes) and they do exactly what you described. No more pellets on the floor at all!

:D :D :D

Litter Welcome Mat - another experience

Postby cj » Thu Apr 29, 2004 9:16 pm

My four Siberians turned the mat into a toy. They would pull the grid out and slide it all over the bathroom floor. So I sent it back.

Then again, I should have known. After using the Litterfree machine, my kitties push the start button themselves. Who needs automatic settings :D

There is a child lock option on the LitterFree machine. I don't believe using this feature disables automatic timed settings.

It's too bad about the "toy" tray. The litter catcher manages to catch most of the granules for me.

Meanwhile, I'm just happy if mine make it into the box. (One prefers the bathtub and another likes my suitcase... :-/). I think teaching them to press the button is about as far off as teaching them to vacuum the livingroom and do the dishes. (Which, if anyone has any ideas, I'd really like to let the maid go...)

Heh, two years later and I just stumbled onto my old post. By way of an update, my cat is happily using the litterfree now, and I've got a new kitten who likes it just fine as well. I've fixed it a couple of times myself, but the system does seem to be on its last legs. I can see a CatGenie in my near future......

I guess I jinxed myself with that last post. Two days later Litterfree died: the impeller motor seems to be shot. (Gotta have an impeller! :-) )

So, taking the hint, I ordered CatGenie. It arrived Thursday, and the kitties and I are very happy with it!
