Two Against One

:D I got married in September. He agreed to love honor and cherish me and my 3 cats on the condition that I was the primary caregiver (litter box attendant) We went on the honeymoon as a couple and came back from the get away as a family of 3 (well there WILL BE three people in June) Well, that means that there will be a baby joining us, our cats and turtle soon. My husband was so unhappy about the new responisbilities but he kept it up. For Christmas I got him the litterfree. He LOVES it. Two of the cats, Felix and Porter, took to it in less than 12 hours without any of the preliminaries like moving the litter box, putting the plastic pellets on the regular litter, or putting old poopy in the new poopy pan. My husband is a "man who knows how to do it without the directions" kinda guy! The other cat, Button, was 15 years old and seriously ill with diabetes. He refused until the day he died. But then again he refused to use the regular litter box near the end. That makes two against one. I dont believe that an older-than-dirt cat should be made to learn new tricks any way.
I really like the new box. This means that I am off the hook even after all the baby mess is over with!!! There are a few things I dont like. The noise is at the top of the list. We have schedualed the litterfree to run right after we go to work, right before we come home, and finally at bedtime. We havent noticed much of a stink except when it goes off and that seems to disapate quick enough. The next thing is cats will always track, but those pellets are hard. We sweep them up and at the end of the week we put them back in the box. I havent noticed a problem with hair but my boys dont shed too much. We have a little issue with the cats trying to play in the box when it fills up with water. They like to slap the water. I am sure that this is not a common problem since most cats will avoid water but our cats are a little off.

Pepper,

I assume you mean litterfree, not littermaid. Please let us know.

Also, congratulations on your wedding and the new edition to your family. All the best.

Pepper's not the only one...

Pepper is not the only one who enjoys watching the cycle. One of mine still gets up (3 months later) at every cycle and has to watch and bat at the whirling plastic. I've been thinking I need to get a video camera in there and send the film into America's funniest Animals TV show. He'd probably pull in the grand prize!

TV for Cats

Even after a year and a half, EVERY time it goes off, mine goes racing down the stairs to watch it do it's thing. As far as I'm concerned, its the greatest thing since sliced bread. It has faults, one of which is the company going under, but it is heads and tails above the traditional litter box!
