Why the difference in price

Postby Tori » Mon Jul 28, 2003 9:51 am

Just curious if anyone has ever asked when they ordered their LR, why they charge more for the bone colored one, then they do for the black one??

If they're they same exact thing, why should different colors cost different prices?

What they say...

Postby cas » Mon Jul 28, 2003 11:09 am

They say that the tan plastic costs them more to produce. What I don't understand, is why someone would pay more for the tan? Maybe it is easier to see dirt if you're cleaning, but then wouldn't that make it easier to see dirt always?

I am curious about this, too. Maybe Lauren will answer?

Ok thanks, that makes sense... I didn't know it cost them more for the tan color.

I haven't purchased one yet, but I've seriously been consiering the purchase. I would just buy the black one since its cheaper.

Do you own the black or bone colored one? If you have the black one, do you find it diffult to clean beings you're not able to see the dirt as much?

Thanks for your response!

I own a black LR

We own a black Litter Robot. I don't have any issues with keeping it clean. I honestly don't understand the reason for the tan one. Maybe someone really wanted one for decor reasons?

I will say that the "kickin' kitty" guards are a very important addition to the Litter Robot. I can see where they really make sense. We have them on our unit. I wouldn't want one w/o them.

Price difference between bone and black

Postby Lauren » Thu Aug 07, 2003 2:42 pm

The reason for the price difference between the bone and black units is that for this type of plastic, black is the industry standard. Any color that isn't black is considered a custom color and is made in comparatively small quantities. Therefore, the bone costs us more and we pass that cost along to those who prefer the custom color rather than spreading the cost among all Robot owners.
