Litter Robot vs. Litter Free

Postby Madily » Fri Jul 11, 2003 2:21 pm

:D Hi there...

I purchased the Litter Free unit about four months ago and recently learned the company has gone out of biz. I can't find the refills anywhere and am very frustrated after spending over $300! :x I like the product, especially since I'm trying to get pregnant and can't change the box myself.

From this site, I read up on the Litter Robot. I am worried they will go out of biz too. Who has one and how long have you had it? What are the materials needed aside from litter? Do you need a bag lining for the waste?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much!!! :P

For the bag liner, you can just use the standard kitchen trash bag -- its not picky.

Then you need litter and electricity. That's it.

Do you have someone who can man the changing of the bags and everything while you're pregnant. Its easy, but I'm going to make someone else do it if I'm ever pregnant.

We are giving up on our Litterfree. I think we we try a Litter-Robot next. This is getting really expensive.

Tell me about it. We went down the same road. If only we had known about the Litter Robot before we started this site, we might have saved the whole LitterFree process.

Good luck!

I've been keeping in touch with a manager at PetCo near me and he just got back to me today saying that he got a memo that they should be carrying the products we need for Litter Free within the next 2-4 wks. Hmmmm???? What to do!

Run the Litterfree frequently on water only - supplies will be available very soon. I personally think it's a much better solution, although some will disagree with me on this. You may as well get your cats used to using it.

Cats & pellets & LitterFree

I suspect that cats who will use the "pearl" or "crystal" type litter (where you only scoop solid waste) will be more likely to adjust ok to LitterFree, while those that reject that litter will reject LitterFree as well. It holds true for my two cats anyway.
