How often do you clean globe and change out litter

Postby zetta » Wed May 21, 2003 8:19 pm

Questions for the LitterRobot users out there:

How often do you feel the globe needs to be hosed out?
How often do you completely change out the litter to new stuff?
When you used a standard litter box, how often did you change out the litter?
Do you have any problems with clumps sticking to the walls (and so not dropping into the box)?
Do you have any problems with clumps breaking up and mixing with the clean litter?
How many cats are using your box?

Clean globe? We've done it once after the move last week.

Complete litter change? To be determined

Standard box complete litter change? Every week to every other week. (sometimes longer if we were busy - thus the need for automation)

Clumps sticking to wall? I did notice clumps sticking to the portals - I tried not to notice because they were gross, but I did notice. This will require cleaning from time to time.

Clumps breaking off and mixing with litter? We put the litter from the LR into a regular litterbox when we moved. It was smelly litter. This leads us to the conclusion that the litter doesn't stay 100% clean in the LR and some waste does get saved in the cycle. Still better than the litterboxes of the past.
