Automatic Litterbox Central

After working fine for 2 years, I've had an issue with the senor on my litter robot 2. It is either triggered too easily (flashes red every time they use it and won't cycle), or if I readjust it, it won't trigger all the time. Anyone else had this issue? I can't seem to get it just right.
