Litter Robot Hopping Over Stop and Circling

Postby Odessa » Fri Jul 16, 2010 11:26 pm

My Litter-Robot II started jumping the track, as it were. It pops past the marker, does a complete circle then sets back at a sideways position. I've seen threads mention circuits, etc... but have no idea as to what that is or even how to remove anything. *embarrassed* Does anyone have any possible solutions to this that I would be able to do? Thanks in advance for any and all help. I love this product and hopefully will be able to find a fix for it.

Things I've done:

Made sure litter wasn't too high.
Brushed off any excess dust/litter from the base.
Checked to see if something was clumped inside globe
Unplugged power from base, reconnected.

Have you tried cleaning the entire unit? Hose down the globe and scrub the base really well, making sure to get any litter bits out from the track and the rotater thing that guides the track? If you've already tried that, or try it and it doesn't work, it may be time to call customer service and ask them if they have any ideas since it sounds like you've tried most of the obvious issues. I haven't had any reason to contact them in about a year and a half, but when I did need them, their customer service was REALLY helpful. With talking to them for a few minutes, they knew the questions to ask, figured out the problem, and sent me the replacement part I needed (I needed a new control panel because my cat had used the Litter Robot a few too many times with her butt sticking out and destroyed the circuts), and when the part came, it included easy to follow instructions for how to remove the old part and install the new.

Thank you for answering so quickly! I did notice this morning that when it cycles the cycling/in use light does not go on.

I will be contacting support for this but unfortunately the support says Monday through Friday. I'm emailing the main one just in case.
