Red light flashing and LR barely moves when reset

Postby Vensik » Sat Mar 13, 2010 9:23 pm

So, I am a recent Litter robot convert from the Cat Genie. My original CG finally died and I decided to see what it would be like to have a different $300 litterbox that doesn't actually burn the poo into my houses air...

Anyway, I got my I got my Litter Robot last week and it worked great for 2 days. However now the red light is constantly flashing and when I reset it by unplugging and replugging, or flipping the switch on and off, yellow light comes on and it tries to start the resync cycle but only moves about a centimeter and then stops.

Any suggestions?

It may be that the cat sensor switch needs to be adjusted. Check your manual - it's the spring-loaded switch located directly below the entrance. You might try propping up the front a bit so the switch doesn't touch the ground, and then try recycling. If the LR then recycles properly you just need to fine-tune the sensor.

In my case, even though I added the correct amount of litter, my cat piled it up towards the front of the LR - causing the excessive weight to trigger the sensor. After tweaking the sensor, I found I also had to reduce the amount of litter in the LR.

Let us know if this helps. There are many knowledgeable folks who read this forum from time to time, and the customer reps also visit on occasion.

Hmm, I tried resetting it and even shook all the litter to the back to keep it off the front. Still doing it. I will try to call them at work tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestion.
