will the litter robot be ok for my boy cat

Postby lucky_clover2249 » Sun Feb 07, 2010 4:03 am

Well I am selling my cat genie on eBay right now because my cat won't use it anymore and lately he has not been squatting when urinating it will hit the wall ,its soooo gross Right now I'm just using a regular automatic cat box which sucks with no dome. My question, will the litter robot force my boy cat to sit down and if he doesn't will the dome keep the urine in or will it seep out the cracks?? any advice is appreciated!!!! :D

You probably know that cats climb up a step and into the globe of the LR. Now, as far as I know as long as the cat urinates inside the LR, there's no leakage of urine even if he hits a wall. BUT cats can (and do) climb up the step, into the LR, and let their cute little butts hang-out the door and they urinate onto the step seeping into the drawer area of the LR and floor outside the LR. And if your cat climbs in and aims his urine outside the door -- there you go, on the floor.

Of course, its all experimental -- whether your cat will climb completely inside or not and where he ends up aiming!

If you decide to try the LR, if I were you, I would purchase the LR globe with the window in it. It has a bit more room inside and with the window, the cat may not feel as confined (course he may urinate into the window forcing a stretch of the arm to clean it).

Let us know what you decide to do and how it works! Best wishes...
