Cycling strangely

Postby hudson52 » Thu Jan 28, 2010 10:26 pm

Recently our 2-year-old Litter Robot began acting strangely. It will cycle repeatedly even when not being used, and during the cycle will start and stop several times, as if it doesn't know what position the globe is in. I have checked everything others on the board have done: adjusting the weight sensor to reduce sensitivity, cleaning all surfaces, checking the "trip wire", etc. all to no avail. The motor drive runs smoothly and makes no unusual noises. Sometimes it will work as though it has never had a problem. There have been many references in other posts regarding the magnets and sensors causing this behavior, so it only seems reasonable to presume this is what is causing our box to malfunction.

We can't affort to replace this unit, so it will either have to be a home repair (I'm a Mr. Fixit) or thrown out and replaced with a manual box. What do you guys suggest? Thanks.

Hi "hudson52": My name is Shirley and I am a Customer Service Rep for Litter-Robot. Your description sounds as though the circuit board could be the "culprit". Is there a possibility that your cat might not be turning around in the globe? Please contact me at customer-service@litter-robot.com so that we can help you. If you are ever having a problem REMEMBER we are always here to help. Regards, Shirley
