FLashing Lights, Jumping and Stopped Globes

Postby Regis » Wed Sep 16, 2009 11:42 pm

Hi,

From some other posts I've uncovered the idea that there is a magnet in the globe and a sensor on the base, but any thoughts on where these are exactly?

My globe occasionally stops on the "return trip" from a cycle, and not very far into it, with all three lights flashing. SOmetimes I get lucky and it makes it back to home position, but even so, all three lights are flashing (slowly, the one per second) when it does make it back to home position.

Somewhere along the way, there is often a bit of a "jump" off of the track where the rotation pauses for a moment. I'd love to make sure the sensor and magents are in the proper position, but I'm just not sure where they are. Any advice?

It's an LR II.

Thanks!!

I've noticed the "jump" occurs when the little black post at the back of the globe (that controls the opening/closing of the waste ports) is forced past the plastic stopped thing on the base. That never used to happen, but seems to be quite regular now.

They are rare earth magnets and are so powerful they will hold a paperclip against the track on the globe. One is just above the drop holes and I think the other is just below them.
