Cats will Not use the Litter Robot Any Ideas?

Postby labstar » Fri Jan 18, 2008 1:30 pm

My two Main Coon Cats will not use the LR11 I have tried everything, they just end up peeing on the floor. I have tried with toys inside the LR even with some fresh fish, but they just will not go inside, The cats both are around 14lbs.

I have been using a Catgenie but I am fed up with the amount of cloggs.

The LR11 was placed near the CG they stiil continued to use the CG when I removed the CG they just went and peed on the floor until I re-instated the CG. Does any one have any new ideas please?

Have you tried putting some of the cats' poop in the LR.... just to let them know this is their new litter box?

I feel your pain. One of my five wouldn't use the LR. Tried rewarding her for even being close to thing. She took the treats, but gave the LR a wide berth. Had to sell it on ebay and go back to LM. No space for both units.

I'll keep watching the posts here, cause if there's a way, I'd love to go back to the LR - it's a great design.

Hi I've had the Bot for almost 2 weeks - this weekend I forced them "cold turkey" now I am wondering how long can they hold it? I did buy at the Vet "Cat Attract" and poured that into the Bot along with their litter. My one cat went right in, still don't know if the other one has gone inside. But I would try the Cat Attract it is like a cat magnet and has not harmful chemicals. Good luck.

Cat attract litter is good. I've read it works. We used cat nip to get ours to go in. He didn't use it right away, but a few days later he started doing his business. 14 lbs is not too big. I've read about 20 lb cats using it w/no problem.
