No Lights On LR

Postby Twoboys » Sat Dec 08, 2007 7:37 am

Good morning

I've lurked for a while and like the others decided on the LR for my two boys, purchased it about a month ago and I love it. Everything has been going great until this morning, I was in another room, heard it cycle and had that happy feeling that things were running well in my house. About and hour later I walked by the room with the LR and there were no lights lit. I checked the plug to make sure it was in the wall securely and found it was very hot to the touch, I immediately unplugged it to let it cool off. After waiting a couple of hours I plugged it back in but still no lights on the LR, I've checked the outlet and it's working fine. I took off the globe to see if anything was jammed and everything seems fine and I found it strange that it would work fine then just stop. Is there anything else on the LR that I should check before calling customer support?

Of course this has to happen on Sat morning, I'm going to call later and hope that maybe, just maybe, someone is there to answer the phone.

I called Customer Service this morning and left a message. I hope this is resolved quickly, both my boys and I have become spoiled by this machine.

I want to let ya'll know that the customer service was very helpful and as of this morning they are sending me a replacement LR. This makes me even happier with my purchase, it's one thing to hear about good customer service it's another to actually experience it.

Good to know that you received such great customer service. It appears that the company stands
behind it's product and is very helpful. Hope it was just a glitch in the plug and that you have no
more problems. I really love the bot and my kitties have adjusted to it really well. Let us know
how it goes!

As far as my boys using the LR there was no problem. They are both extremely easy going and took to the LR the day I set it up. I did as others advised and didn't put it on automatic for a couple of days, once I did it took about a week before the novelty wore off for them watching it cycle. I'm using WBCL, the extra strength with a little Natures Miracle tossed in (I like the smell), in the waste bin I'm sprinking charcoal I use for my aquarium and there is no odor at all.

One thing my husband suggested we do is use a surge strip for the LR, everything else in the house with any kind of sensitive electronics is on one, why not the LR. Hopefully once I receive the new unit I won't have another problem. I'll post how it things go after the replacement arrives.

I received the replacement LR last night, I didn't really expect it until next week, it was a pleasant surprise on my arrival home from work. Hubby was so happy this arrived before Christmas that he helped me take down the other and set up the new one right away, of course the two boys had to help.

There are two enhancements to this one that I hope work out well. The first is a charcoal filter that fits into the space at the front of the waste drawer, this should cut odors coming from that section. The second is a ring of a fuzzy material around the base unit that is supposed to also suppress odors from the drawer, it also seems as if it will brush the globe as it turns keeping it cleaner. Both items are replaceable and you can purchase them from the LR company.

So far the new unit seems to be working fine, we made sure to have it plugged into a surge strip as a precaution. The boys went right to it with no problem. I'll post back about the enhancements once I've had a few days with it running.
