Is it right for me?

Postby Conchita » Sat Oct 18, 2003 12:52 pm

Hi, I am a new member of the forum and have enjoyed reading everyone's comments. I have one small female cat and live in an apartment. I have been using a manual covered litterbox with Tidy Cat Cystal Blend scoopable litter and Tidy Cat Sifting Liners. I was going to buy the LM500 model, but I am now considering buying the LR. However, I still have a few concerns:

- I only have one bathroom (current location of litterbox), and the LR would take up so much room.
- The bathroom only has one electrical outlet not in a convienient place for anything on the floor. Can the LR use batteries?
- Scully (yes like from the X-Files) always goes #1 right in the front part of the box while she faces backwards. I read some posts that the cat must turn around and face out the entrance/exit.

Any thoughts :?:

Well, it does require an electrical outlet. There are no battery options.

As for the space concerns, I think they have the dimensions on the Litter Robot website. You could measure it out and see if it would be too big.

You'd have to try it and see if your cat can do it right.

Another option, if you can't work out the electrical, would be the Omega Paw box. It is manual - you'll have to roll it yourself every day or so. If your cat is small, you may be able to use the smaller Omega Paw box.

Check out the part of the forum on this product. It works the same as the LR, more or less, but is not an electrical box. You will still have to do the work manually, but I think it's a good alternative for those who can't do an LR for some reason or another.
