dogs got waste drawer out!

Postby KattB » Wed Oct 15, 2003 11:40 pm

I most times have a screen around the litter box, any that I have had, as the litter box is in the living room and better not to see it. But I have had one cat (we have had the litter box a week on Thr.) dosn't go in the whole way and the pee goes on the step and inside the drawer. so I took away the screen to see whice of 4 cats did it so I could push him/her in all the way next time. But I am almost never in the l iving room, my husband is (tho he had a stroke at 43 in '89 he is parliazed on one side but for the most part you would not know, other then he forgets some times). He is on the computer all day,as he watches tv but he does not notice things, anyway I was gone most of the day, was in the living room and noticed the drawer was pulled out, the litter was on the floor ( the dogs miss eating it..yuck). and the litter had 'cycled' one time, and so there was some waste where the drawer should have been that I emptyed out.
so, how do I keep 4 dogs (two are 22 lb's , one is 70 lb's and one is 110 lb's. lol) from draging the dang waste drawer out, now that they know they can.
Any ideas?

Hi, KattB!

I can't remember when's the last time I saw this stuff, but heavy duty, self adhesive velcro. I'd stick some on both sides of the drawer and the unit next to the drawer (hook), and then have two belts of the loop stuff. I would make it a lot harder for the dog to open.

I am in shock! I can't believe the dogs got the drawer out of your Robot! I think Terri's idea about the Velcro is an excellent one!

You could always put the velcro on the dogs.....guaranteed they won't pay any attention to the drawer.....LOL
