Got LR today. Max "Christened" the LR already!

Postby Terri » Thu Oct 09, 2003 5:28 pm

 Hi, Everyone! Thank you for all of your posts on LR and LM. I chose the LR because it was the only product on the market that worked with gravity, not against is. Yes, it's big (moved sink up in guest bath 2 inches to accomodate LR). Noise level about the same as our ceiling fan in the guest bath where LR is. The LR was out of the box, set up as per instructions but with only 1 tablespoon of old litter instead of 1 cup (sprinkled on top). Within 2 hours, Max started to use the LR!!!! Will post updates from time to time. We just adopted Max 3 weeks ago from a humane society; he is 5 to 6 months old. Max weighs approximately 6 lbs.

I've been slightly jealous of Terri -- Max got his LR about the same time Molly got hers.

Molly is Siamese, and it is important to remember that dogs have owners, cats have staff.

At 3 1/2, she doesn't have that kitten curiosity. She's never been particularly interested in cardboard boxes.

It didn't take Molly a couple of hours to figure out what the LR was for.....

She didn't seem to be afraid of it, or anything like that, just not very interesting.

We went three days with just the LR, and (thankfully) she waited until she could go outside in the morning rather than finding an alternate place to go in the house.

Before something happened, I brought the old box back in and let it get disgusting.

Didn't bother her much.

So I resorted to the one thing that really interests her: food.

I started feeding her in the 'bot -- and that finally gave her a reason to start going in.

After a week, I took out the old litter box so the only box was the LR.

... which she used last night.

It only took her 16 days.....

If you don't get Terri's quick results, be patient (and maybe a little inventive).
