Should I buy one? Yes or No?

Postby deckert » Fri Sep 26, 2003 1:05 pm

I have been reading the posts but still haven't found any that really review the LR. I should purchase the LR, what size screen should I get for World's Best CL but then if I want to change back? Thanks!

I have two cats (one 7 lb and one 20lb, who poops like a dog)

Any advise is most apprediated.

Thanks

reviews

There are a few actual reviews if you read the forum. I've written one, some others have written some. There are even ones under the headings like "wanted actual reviews."

Your smaller cat should be fine. The 20lb cat would require some testing. It may be too big. They say that 15 is the limit, but people have found large cats can use it. Our 13 lb cat used it and just stuck his head and front paws out the opening.

I like the box and find that it works. The company is easy to deal with, so the trial period is for real.

After you take a look at what others have written and the reviews, let me know if you have any questions. There is a litter robot rep on this site, too. She is pretty good about answering questions in detail. You might read all of her posts, too since they often deal with troubleshooting. Her username is Lauren.

The one thing you may have to adjust is the sensor on the bottom of the box for your heavier cat. There are detailed instructions on the forum, but litter robot will give these to you if you call their customer support.

I hope that helps. Again, please ask if you have any questions once you read some of the other posts.

please write about your bigger cat

When you get the box, you may have an adjustment period of about two or three weeks. We dealt with this by leaving their old boxes out to get yucky. They eventually chose the new, clean box. Others have written about their own manipulation of their cats to get them to use the box. So, when you get the box, you might want to check out what others have done.

Also, please write and let us know how your large cat fairs. Being over the weight limit doesn't always spell disaster. I'd be interested to know how it goes.

Best of luck. I hope it makes your life easier.

Hi Deckert,

You will be satisfied with your litter robot (LR). I've had one for about 2 weeks now and like it quite a bit. I use World's Best Cat Litter (WBCL) with the Super Fine Screen and found that is works just fine. I too was debating what size of screen to order since I wanted to try alternative litter and just decided to go with what most people order which is the superfine screen (this is the default choice). I have no idea why the company recommends the larger screen for this cat litter because the granules are small like those of clumping litter. Also, although WBCL is a superior product in odor control and the LR minimizes odor, I found that it does smell a bit especially when the drawer has not been emptied for a day. I empty the drawer about twice a day to keep the house odor-free as possible and my husband who claims to have a very good sense of smell is happy with this. I've never minded scooping but now that I've found this machine, I'm not going back to poop and scoop if I can help it. It does a much better job than I do and is way faster too. For now I'm giving the LR two thumbs up and even though it is pricey, it is money well spent.

Sincerely,
Tia
