Sorry to hear about your loss  I lost a kitty last year too and then we got a kitten for Christmas :D He used to be too small to set of the sensors. I was always vigilant about watching him, especially in the LR. Then one day he stepped in and the sensor light went off! WooHoo! It won't be long before your little girl can use LR on her own.

I got that discount email too. Unfortunately I still have to wait a while before I can afford to upgrade. I looked at Littermaid which I owned a long time ago because it's cheaper. I just decided to stick with LR2 and pick up a littermaid later. At least this company is constantly improving the product, know what customer service is and treats us right. I'm just disappointed they haven't made a larger globe yet.

LR2

Thanks, But yeah I can't really afford one now neither and if mine is working then I really don't need one.. Now If I could sell mine for lets say 136 bucks a hundred plus to cover the shipping then I would maybe pay the rest. I would like a nice clean new one but I don't know about the step thing I am always vacumming mine off but one person said the holes on the step made the smell come out. I know it's bigger inside but if the old one is working then is there really a need for the new one?

Has anyone upgraded and felt like it wasn't really worth the money meaning if your old one is working fine don't do it or is the LR2 really that much better then the older ones. I guess if I could sell mine that is the only way I would do it. I have a 1BR condo and one is enough and with just 2 cats that is all I need. I am sure Lexi will let off the sensor soon but for now she has her own regular litter box while she is locked up in the bedroom. But she likes the LR she likes going in it. She jumped out the side once cause my other cat was after her LOL!!

I physically put my chicken... um, sorry... cat inside and would pet her while inside. I'd hold my hand over the opening so she couldn't run right out. This way, with me petting her and softly talking to her, she was able to sniff around. After 2 days of placing her into it every 3 hours or so, and her still not using it, I sprayed cat nip on the inside wall. After about 2 minutes, I put her inside the box. She didn't come out for about 45 minutes! :o) She cleaned the entire inside of the LR and had a little nap in the box as well. And the next morning when I came down, she was coming out of it after doing her business.

On another note, I did NOT have the LR on automatic cycle until both cats were using it for about 4 days. (I would just manually cycle it myself as it freaked them out) So, again, I would pet and soft talk to them as it cycled.

Good luck with yours.

I had two cats when I got my Litter Robot. One took to it within 48 hours. The other is a Norwegian Forest Cat mix, 15 pounds, not fat, and he was a percher.

The 30 day deadline approached... and I let it go.

The Robot had already cut my chores in half, and I figured we could train Mr. Bond to use the toilet. There never seemed to be a good time to have a bowl of litter sitting in the john... So, time went on, and a YEAR later, I caught Mr. Bond using the Robot!

The always clean litter has a powerful pull, and Puffy hadn't been transmuted into part fly, part cat. So Mr. Bond figured it out, and within the hour, the old box was gone.

I've been loving it!

For two years now I've been using the Robot with no problem, and we just got a kitten who loves it too. Mr. Bond figured out that he could get in, turn around, and let the business end stay in the 'Bot. As the kitten grows (I'm thinking he's a Maine Coon mix, with paws like Chunky chocolate bars) he'll make the same adjustments.

The moral of my story? Don't let the dream die, and it just might work out. Cats don't work on our schedule.
