Hi, Have you tried the World's Best Cat litter? I was wondering how this compares to that. I use it and have been happy with the odor control and all, but am worried about getting bugs. It seems some have had a problem with that. Where can you buy the Our Cat's Choice? Thanks! Sage

The only place I've seen Our Cat's Choice is at Stop and Shop. I've talked to the company and they even list a few places (online) that supposedly carry it but have only seen their other products, not the litter. I've tried World's Best Cat litter but wasn't impressed with the odor control (having 15 cats, controlling odor is a major concern). I found Swheat Scoop to be superior to WB and the Our Cat's is even better than SS.

I'll weigh in on this. Since I got my 'bot 5 weeks ago, I've been experimenting. I want to maximize my "enjoyment" of this wonderful machine. I've purchased various types of clumping litter, and used them for a week. I clean the globe before switching types. (I have patient, non-picky cats.) Here are my results so far.

Arm & Hammer Super Scoop ($5.99 for 14lb box @ Petmsart). Great clumping, great odor control. Some tracking and "kick-out". A little perfumey. Did not stick to globe or liner.

Sam's club ($7.75 for 40lb bucket, store-type brand @ Sam's). Great clumping, great odor control. Large particles help minimize tracking. Light fragrance. Did not stick to globe or liner.

Tidy Cats Crystal Bland ($7.47 for 20lb jug @ Wal-Mart). OK Clumping, good odor control. So far, the worst for tracking and "kick-out". Small sticky clumps stuck to globe, mesh, and liner.

Exquisicat ($8.99 for 40lb box @ Petsmart). Great clumping, good odor control. Some tracking and "kick-out". Did not stick to globe or liner.

Pestell ($5.75 for 40lb bag @ local pet store) Good clumping, good odor control. Some tracking and "kick-out". Did not stick to globe or liner.

**That's all the testing I'm doing. Right now, its between Sam's club and the Pestell. Low price with good results. It will probably come down to convenience. I use about 60lb a month (with 6 cats), so it will just depend on which store I will be closer to when I need litter. My usage will probably go down after I finish experimenting.

Kelly =)

World's Most Expensive Cat Litter

Postby sppooo » Thu Feb 26, 2004 4:41 am

Marched into Petco to buy WBCL, brought a 17 pound bag to the front counter and was billed nearly $30!!!!!!! Sorry folks, I thought SwheatScoop was too expensive, and that's only half that price. I imagine if someone (a government contractor? NASA?) is willing to pay even more, they can make an even BETTER cat litter, we have the technology!! But alas, I don't have the funds. I appreciate reviews of lower priced alternatives, because I'm gonna need 'em after shelling out $400 for a new robot.

I am so happy to have found this forum. I am buying some scoopable litter tomorrow so my cats can get used to it. I was set on the Arm & Hammer unscented but then I read someone liked the Fresh Step. I thought I had read in another post someone had a problem with fresh step. But I use Fresh Step now in the regular so I think I will try it in the scoopable. I have 2 cats and want to be able to change the bag twice a week or every 5 days or so without a big ordor. But I am a candle freak and always have candles lit around the house. But I am glad I now know what litter to try. I can always try the Fresh Step and if I have a problem go to the Arm & Hammer. Anyone else happy with the Fresh Step? I think more people like the Arm & Hammer. I know they say sometimes cats can tell when you change there litter. I hope everything works out I can't wait to get it. Rose

Ok now I am totally confused. I re read the litter forum and Ash you said you love Fresh Step. SWho else uses that one? I remember reading where a couple people didn't like it and I forgot why. Guess I'll need to find it and re read also. Someone said they loved Scoop Away maximum clumping for multi cats which is what I bought. But pouring it out made a mess and I didn't like it. I added some to the regular Fresh Step that I am using now. Too much stuff flew up in teh air from it. My next choice was to get some Arm & Hammer today. But then I re read here where Ash liked Fresh Step a lot and that's what I use now in the regular so I may get that. What is WBCL? I've never heard of it. Is it to be used with the regular screen that I ordered? Everyone likes something different so I guess it's for me to decide and of course my cats, I can't wait for my LR to get here. Ok time to re read agin who likes what litter. This reply is from a post on the page before this but it put it at the end so it has me posting one right after the other. Sorry for so many post I am excited about getting this can't you tell. Rose
