The litter I use, have not gotten this litter box yet, buying it tomarrow, but was told this litter will work in it.
I use Oder Lockers , scented (lightly) or unscented. We have 4 cat's, it clumps great, you can flush it, I don't but feel better when my 4 dogs like to 'snack' in the box..nasty. But it dosn't hurt them, the cats love it, well don't know if they can love a litter, but they use it. lol
The box says that 10 lb box is equal to 20'bs of other clumping litters, I don't know about that, but we use less and it last longer then the ones we use to use. I can only find it in our supermarket and at Petsmart. (looked in walmart). Here it cost 5.99 a box and on sale it is 4.99.

Heh I just re-read this topic. You are welcome all. I never used the Crystal Blend Arm and Hammer. After reading your notes, I am glad I didn't! I've found the "Fresh Clean Scent" Arm and Hammer to be not too purfumey.

I don't think I've tried Fresh Step Scoop in a LONG time... I'll keep that one in mind!

Swheatscoop

Postby princess » Tue Nov 11, 2003 12:26 am

Swheatscoop includes a suggestion card that suggests you maintain a depth of litter and non-stick spray (like PAM brand) really eliminates that sticking clumping challenge.

Herbal Lavender cat litter - dreamy!!!

Postby princess » Tue Nov 11, 2003 12:35 am

http://www.vetbasis.com 1.888.414.7387 has launched a "nature derived herbal cat litter featuring the aromatherapeutic frarance of lavender" (that info off the package).

i happened to find it at Critter Corner 435.644.2002 @ 157 W. Center Street in Kanab, Utah (near the Best Friend's Animal Sanctuary).

i like it so much i've gotten pricing on how to buy by the pallet.

Ya know.....

If I used PAM or some spray like that my cat would be in there licking it off the walls. He has the strangest tastes. He likes spaghetti sauce, creamed corn, the juice from canned green beens, spilled tea in the saucer (though that does have milk). Just when I think there is absolutely no way.......he is there licking it. Anybody else have odd cats?

Another thing.....occasionally I find whiskers he has dropped, and if I hold them out to him he eats them. First time he did that it surprised me. I held it up to him and said, "Look what you lost.....". He took it from me and ate it before I could pull it away. Keep thinking maybe I should try one..........

Strange tastes and dreamy lavendar

Postby Lauren » Fri Nov 14, 2003 1:16 pm

MD2B, I once had a cat who would attack the grocery bags in search of tomatoes as soon as I brought them into the house. She would rip through the bags and start chomping on them before I could put them away.

Princess has me really wanting to try that natural lavendar litter. It sounds like it would turn the Robot into an air freshener.....

World's Best

Postby Cecilia » Thu Nov 20, 2003 5:01 pm

Hi all,

After reading all the forums & info, I decided to try the World's best litter. I have two cats, female age 12, 10lbs and male age 10 12lbs. The male has urinary tract disease, so I thought it would be a good idea to try this, but I ran into a few problems....

After his UT operation, he developed an eating disorder. This cat would litterally eat himself to death, if he were allowed. He will even eat a sealed box of edamame (soy beans--and he even figured out how to deshell them!) and cries incessantly for food all day long. Too bad he's just so cute and lovable.

Anyway, the smell of the litter doesn't bother me, but what does is that this cat thinks the litter is food. He's okay as long as the litter is in the litterbox, but he's going after the bag of clean litter with a vengeance. There hasn't been a day without a new tear in the bag. I even put the bag on a shelf--three shelves high, about eyesight level for me--and he still manages to get to it.

Anyway, just my experience. If anyone knows how to deal with this cat's eating disorder, I'd highly appreciate it. Oh, the other cat is just fine with everything.

Cecilia :-)

Yikes...

Your poor ravenous cat. We stored ours in the old tubs that our Petco litter came in. Maybe you should try a storage bin. Then he won't smell it and want to eat it?

Litter poll

I use ExquisiCat Unscented brand from PetSmart. It works great and is quite cheap, about $9 for 40 pounds.

Hi, Jade and all - I have 3 big cats with Kidney disease who drink a staggering amount of water and so throw off an unusual amout of urine. I had the same problem that you did, with 'mud' everywhere inside the globe and even working its way outside the port holes. I had tried using Arm and Hammer hard clumping and Fresh Step Scoopable and all of the other hard clumping litters that others have recommended. But I finally found one that REALLY WORKS. That is SCOOP AWAY MAXIMUM CLUMPING FOR MULTIPLE CATS. It is their 'new formula'. With this stuff, even with my water guzzlers, we have nice hard clumps that do not produce 'mud' and do not stick to the inside of the globe. I figure that I will need to take it outside and wash the globe maybe once every 3 weeks or so, just for esthetic purposes. You might give it a try! - arkansasfarmgirl

All the Scoop Away products appear to have revised their clumping formula. The different Scoop away products seem to vary only by the level of fragrance (scented or not) and level of "microbials". The Multi-Cat formula adds "extra Odor Guard"; presumably this is its anti-microbial agent. Another product adds the silica crystals (with no mention of fragrance or anti-microbial at all).

Quote below from the scoop away website: http://www.scoopaway.com/faq.html

What's the difference among the four Scoop Away® products?

Scoop Away Plus Crystals: combines moisture absorbing litter with odor trapping crystals to create a tough odor-fighting formula.

Scoop Away Fresh Scent: has an anti-microbial agent that fights the growth of odor-causing bacteria in the litter and has a moisture-activated fragrance.

Scoop Away Unscented: has an anti-microbial agent that fights the growth of odor-causing bacteria in the litter, with no added fragrance.

Scoop Away Multi-Cat Formula: has extra Odor Guard™ agents that fight the growth of odor-causing bacteria in the litter and has a moisture activated fragrance.

Fresh Scent, Unscented and Multi-Cat varieties are made from natural minerals and clays that are 99.9% dust-free and non-toxic to humans and animals. In addition, a gentle bacteria-fighting agent has been added to all Scoop Away varieties. This agent is proven to be safe and effective in fighting odor-causing germs on contact. The agent is odorless, so your cat won't notice it's there. Scoop Away Plus Crystals also contains silica gel as well as natural minerals and clays.

Hi, I'm new to this forum and was noticed everyones concerns re: swheat scoop and the cement like problem. Has anyone tried spraying whatever litterbox you have with Pam or any non-stick spray...I run a rescue and love the safety of swheat scoop but couldn't deal with the sticking. The nonstick sprays help a lot. Another litter I found to be as safe as swheat scoop and smells unusually good and doesn't stick at all...but is a bit pricey is a relatively new litter called OurCat's Choice...it's made by OurPet. It's an incredible litter (the cats did try some as a snack when I first tried it, but it's safe to eat so I wasn't too concerned). Odor Control is unbelievable and it doesn't stick...is safe to even flush down the toilet. Just thought I'd stick my 2 cents in.

try "Our Cat's Choice"

Postby KattB » Tue Feb 10, 2004 12:10 am

I wanted to change litters, for this and a few other reasons, I bought just the globe, but the one with the large screen. (we had the small screen one).
The 'Our Cat's Choice' is Corn, Zeolite and Yucca Schidigera.
It has a slight honey sent to it,even after used. (if you empty it when you should that is. )
It dosn't stick and the cat's all like it.
